Policies:

Cancellations:

Cancellations must be received via email, text, or phone by 9 PM the day before the scheduled service. Services which are not cancelled by that time will be included on your invoice. You may also alter your pet’s schedule by logging in to your account - the same cancellation policy applies.

Equipment:

Dogs must wear an appropriately fitted collar or harness, such that they cannot slip out, and a 6 foot non-coiling leash (with no baggie dispenser attached). We reserve the right to request that a pinch (prong) collar be provided for walking a strong or difficult to control dog (large or small, if appropriate for the breed). Gentle Leaders are not permitted equipment. Harnesses are not permitted equipment for medium or large dogs. Small dogs should wear a harness. Dogs should wear identification.

Equipment must be in good repair. For example, we will not be able to walk your dog with a leash with faulty stitching or a pinch collar that falls off when your dog shakes their head.

Scheduling Services:

Regularly occurring dog walks are conducted between 11 AM and 4 PM. Dogs receiving twice daily walks go out around 11 and 3. Dogs receiving once daily walks will be picked up sometime between 11:30 and 1:30. If you schedule walks through the web site, you may select what time slot you’d prefer. Select 10-12 or 2-4 for late morning or late afternoon walks, or 12-2 for one mid-day walk.

Walking holidays are New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, Christmas. An additional $10 holiday fee will be applied to all services on these days.

Weather:

On wet days, please leave a towel near the door so that your walker can dry off your dog. Also, please leave a water bowl near the door so we can check it, or ensure that you have left your dog with enough water for the day if the bowl is not near the door.

To ensure your dog’s safety, we reserve the right to shorten walks in the event of extreme weather (if the heat index is above 100 degrees, or the temperature with wind chill is less than 10 degrees).

Keys and Supplies:

At the orientation visit, we will need to be given two sets of your house keys. If we need to come back at a later time to pick up keys, there will be a $10 service fee. If we need to make copies of your keys, you will be invoiced for that charge and a $10 service fee.

For cat sitting and dog overnights, clients will provide enough food, litter, and medication (if necessary) to last the duration of their absence. If we need to pick up any supplies that you run out of or that weren’t provided, the client will compensate doGone Walking and Pet Services and there will be an additional service fee of $10-$25, depending on the time required to run the errand.

Dogs and cats must be current on all vaccinations or at least to doGone Walking and Pet Services’ satisfaction. The client must provide a vaccine certificate at the orientation visit and every time vaccines are updated.
